Ich wache auf, als der Lotse an Bord geht. Offensichtlich hat sich der Kapitän leider nicht verfahren.



I woke up when the pilot went on board. Obviously the Captain did not go the wrong way.

Soon we arrived in Hook of Holland.



Bald sind wir schon wieder in Hoek van Holland.

Bruno entfernt das Kreppband ohne Spuren zu hinterlassen. Da war wirklich niemand hier, um den Filter zu wechseln...



Bruno lifted off the tape without a trace. Nobody was here to replace the filter.

The last day started like the 1st day. Last night I was at the front desk to register Mr Pannen for wheelchair assistance for debarkation. They told that he should walk himself to the Pinnacle Bar and leave the wheelchair in the cabin. I did not agree so I should took him to the Pinnacle Bar to place him on a chair and return the wheelchair to the cabin... We made an agreement that a steward should take him to the Pinnacle Bar and return the wheelchair... But I should call the next morning... When I called this morning I was asked why I did not arranged everything the night before...



Der letzte Tag beginnt wie der 1. Tag. Gestern Abend war ich an der Rezeption, um Herrn Pannen für die Rollstuhl-Ausschiffung anzumelden. Da hieß er soll den Rollstuhl in der Kabine lassen und zu Fuß zur Pinnacle Bar laufen. Da ich damit nicht einverstanden war, hieß es ich soll Herrn Pannen runterfahren und ihn dort auf umsetzen und den Rollstuhl wieder hochfahren... Geeinigt haben wir uns darauf, dass ein Steward Herrn Pannen runterfährt und den Rollstuhl zurückbringt... Ich soll allerdings erst heute morgen anrufen... Als ich heute morgen anrufe, werde ich gefragt, warum ich das nicht schon gestern Abend erledigt hätte...

Die Rechnung kommt. Keine Fehler und das ist neu: der Umsatz macht sich auf die anzurechnenenden Tage für den Mariner Society Status bemerkbar. Wenn man in bar alles begleicht muss man nicht ZWANGSWEISE 60 USD je Nacht und Person hinterlegen, wenn man nicht davon ausgeht, dass man soviel an Bord verkonsumiert ABER man wird benachrichtigt, wenn der Vorschuss gegen 0 läuft und man wird aufgefordert das Konto wieder aufzufüllen. Wenn man Reiseschecks nutzt, erfogt die Auszahlung des Überschusses in bar.



The invoice came. No mistake and that was new: the consumption on board will influence your status for the Mariner Society. If you are cash customer there is no need to deposit STRICTLY 60 USD per night * person if you except not to have such a high consumption on board BUT you will be notified in this moment when the deposit goes again 0 and you will be requested to fill up your account. If you use travellers check a refund now will be made in cash.

They did not lock the mini-bar prior to debarkation. Let us see what will follow as post-charging if somebody just took something out.



Die Mini-Bar wird vor der Ausschiffung nicht verschlossen. Mal gucken, was noch als Nachbelastung kommt, wenn jemand einfach etwas rausnimmt.

Im Restaurant gibt es Probleme: 4 Amerikaner standen als erste in der Schlange - soweit o.k. Sie wollen einen Tisch für 24 Personen und da kein Maître in der Nähe ist, lässt sich der Steward überfahren und alle die nach uns kommen gehören wohl zu der 24-er Gruppe, die an uns vorbeiziehen. Als ich dann reinbrülle, dass heute Tag der Ausschiffung ist und wir alle es ein wenig eilig hätten, kommt ein Maître angerannt und greift ein und stoppt die Einzelerfassung der Kabinen für die 24-er Gruppe.



There were some problems in the restaurant: 4 Americans were the first in line - so far it's fine - They wanted to have a table for 24 persons and as there was no Maître around, the steward accepted it and everyone who came after us and belong to the party of 24 just passed. I shouted then that we have day of debarkation and all of us in the line are under time pressure, a Maître came and instructed to stop the single registration of the cabins for the party of 24.

It was clear: the working schedule was not adjusted to the opening times. No butter was available - nowhere.



Wieder einmal sind offensichtlich die Arbeitszeiten den Öffnungszeiten nicht angepasst worden. Es gibt noch keine Butter - nirgendst.

Zum Glück ist Sahdan einer der zwei Hilfskellner, der für uns zuständig ist. Daher bleibe ich ruhig. Die anderen Kellner kennen wir schon... allerdings hatten wir uns von denen schon gedanklich verabschiedet...



We were lucky that Sahdan was one of the two assistant waiters who was in charge for us. So I stayed calm. We knew all other waiters... but we bid already farewell to them in our minds...

Sandah was so attentive that we had no chance to ask for more milk because he saw already that the milk jug was empty: The first person who saw this.



Sandah ist so aufmerksam, dass wir keine Chance haben, nach mehr Milch zu fragen, weil er es schon gesehen hat: Er war der erste, dem eine leere Milchkanne auffiel.

Wie schon Tage zuvor, wurde mal wieder das Toastbrot vergessen. Sandah rennt sofort in die Galley, damit Brunos Vater schon mal anfangen kann. Hätten wir auf den Hauptkellner gewartet, würde Brunos Vater vermutlich jetzt auf der nachfolgenden Reise rund um die britischen Inseln noch sitzen und auf den Toast warten.



Like days before they forgot the toast. Sandah ran asap to the galley to get some toast for Bruno's father so he could start to eat. Should we waited for the main waiter Bruno's father would be still on the cruise around the British Isles and wait for the toast.

Sandah got me my toast to the omelette so I could start immediately to eat. It took only 35 instead of 40 minutes... but it was definately not the liability of Sandah that the galley need so long again.



Mir bringt Sandah schon den Toast zum Omelette, damit ich auch sofort anfangen zu essen. Es hat dieses Mal nur 35 statt 40 Minuten gedauert... aber es war keinesfalls die Schuld von Sandah, wenn die Galley so lange braucht.

Ich baue mir mein Brot...

Good with HAL: you get cabin service also on day of debarkation.



Das gute bei HAL: Man bekommt auch Kabinenservice am Tag der Ausschiffung.

Ich sage im Pinnacle Grill Bescheid, dass ich packen gehe und dass sie ja nicht auf die Idee kommen sollen, Herrn Pannen vom Schiff zu schieben, wenn der Ausruf kommt... Sicherheitshalber hatte ich allerdings Herrn und Frau Pannen gar nicht die Ausschiffungsnummer und -farbe genannt. Nicht, dass sie vor uns von Bord sind. Rechts ist der Maître des Pinnacle Grill Sanjay Bhatt. Den Namen der linken Stewardess kann ich leider auf dem Namensschild nicht identifizieren. Im Übrigen: Stewardessen arbeiten nur im Pinnacle Grill und im Lido Café. Im den Hauptrestaurants sind sie nur als Weinstewardessen tätig.



I told the Pinnacle Grill that I need to pack and that they should not take Mr Pannen from the ship if their number is called... For safety reason I did not tell Mrs and Mr Pannen which debarkation number and colour we had. Just to avoid they were off the ship. On the right side it was the Maître of Pinnacle Grill Sanjay Bhatt. I could not identify the name on the nametag of the stewardess on the left. By the way: stewardesses are only working in Pinnacle Grill and in Lido Café. In the main dining room you find them only as winestewardesses.

She promised to let him sit until we returned. But anyhow she found it would be easier to get him in his rented chair to the street and the steward should return the wheelchair to the warehouse later.



Sie verspricht mir, ihn einfach sitzen zu lassen, bis dass wir wieder da sind. Ansonsten meint sie, dass es wohl etwas einfacher wäre, ihn in dem Mietrollstuhl sitzenzulassen, den der Steward dann direkt in das Lager zurückfahren kann.

Wir gucken uns noch eine Innenkabine an: 7100. Vielleicht ist ja eine Innenkabine auf HAL immer noch besser als eine Außen- bzw. Balkonkabine mit anderen???



We checked an inside cabin: 7100. Maybe it would be better to have an inside on HAL than an oceanview or balcony on others???











A very last time our cards were registered. A German woman who had a colour which will not be paged in the next time but loved to block the exit area for the worst case that her colour would be paged earlier by mistake claimed loudly that our Blue 2 was already announced. There are stupid people (like me - that's HeinBloed - Henry the stupid) and most stupid people. She was definately part of the most stupid people.



Ein letztes Mal werden unsere Karten durch den Leser erfasst. Eine deutsche Dame, die eine Farbe hat, die noch lange nicht aufgerufen wird und aber lieber schon mal den Gang blockiert, falls ihre Farbe irrtümlich früher aufgerufen wird, beklagt sich laut, dass wir sofort erschienen sind, als Blau 2 aufgerufen wurde. Es gibt blöde, wie mich (deswegen HeinBloed) und Saublöde - sie gehört eindeutig zu den Saublöden.

In der Halle werden unsere Ausweise kontrolliert. Da wir eigentlich nur im Schengen-Raum gereist sind, bin ich etwas überrascht.



They checked our IDs in the hall. As we were only travelling within the Schengen-Area I was somehow surprised.

Our baggage was waiting for us and so we grabbed two porters who should take us to the different vehicles.



Unser Gepäck ist schon da und wir schnappen uns zwei Gepäckträger, die uns zu den unterschiedlichen Fahrzeugen bringen sollen.

Wir wissen ja nicht, wo Marius wartet und daher wollen wir keine Umwege mit der Gruppe fahren.



We did not know where Marius would wait for us and so we did not want to do detours with all the group.

In front of the ship the next crew was waiting: a small crew change.



Vor dem Schiff wartet schon die nächste Crew. Es ist kleiner Crewwechsel.

Herr Pannen hatte mal gesagt, dass mit er noch nie so gut essen konnte, wie mit einem amerikanischen Suppenlöffel. Sie sind kleiner als ein klassicher deutscher Suppenlöffel und größer als ein Kaffeelöffel. Ich hatte daher bei der Restaurantleitung angefragt, ob sie mir einen abtreten können. Bevor es Ärger deswegen mit Seattle gibt: ihr habt ja meine Kreditkartennummer. Frau Pannen hat uns angerufen und bestätigt, dass er DIESEN HAL-Löffel definitiv nicht mehr abgibt!!!



Mr Pannen said that he has never eaten so well but with the soup spoon American size. It's smaller than a German table spoon and larger than a German tea spoon. Therefore I asked the restaurant management if there is a chance to get one. Before I bring them into big trouble with Seattle: you have my credit card number. Mrs Pannen called and confirmed that he definately will not return THIS HAL-spoon!!!

There was one specific reason why the Netherlands did not won the Soccer World Cup in South Africa: Yvonne was not their coach. During the voyage she was able to build me up and that I was able to relax and felt well. She asked how they can make Mrs and Mr Pannen happy. As you can see: she made it perfectly. Thanks a lot for this, Yvonne.



Es gibt übrigens einen Grund, warum die Niederlande die Fußball-WM in Südafrika nicht gewonnen haben: Yvonne war nicht ihr Coach. Im Laufe der Reise hat sie es geschafft, mich aufzubauen und dass ich mich endlich erholen konnte und mich wohlgefühlt habe. Sie hatte gefragt, wie sie Frau und Herrn Pannen noch eine Freude bereiten kann. Wie man hier sieht: das ist ihr wohl gelungen. Vielen Dank hierfür, Yvonne!!!

Hier geht es also zum Flughafen als Schiffstransfer. Meine Eltern und Frau und Herrn Pannen warten auf Marius von Dagtoertaxi, der allerdings um die Ecke auf der Erasmusbrücke im Stau festhängt. Damit wir nicht länger warten müssen, meinen Eltern, dass wir schon fahren sollten.



Here were the ship's airport shuttle waiting. My parents and Mrs and Mr Pannen were waiting for Marius of Dagtoertaxi but he was caught in a congestion just around the corner on the Erasmus Bridge. To avoid that we need to wait longer my parents asked us to leave.

Outside of the terminal area there was a bus wating for us.

Der bringt uns kostenlos zum Parkhaus.



This took us free of charge to the parking garage.

There a bad surprise was expecting us. The paying machine was out of order and none was reacting to the help button. So I called the security company which made a connection to the parking company. When I told that I will call the police to free us it went very quickly. They directed us to another paying machine which worked and there we could pay. Another Dutch cruiser could not find any advise on the machine out of order that there should be another one.



Dort wartet eine böse Überraschung. Der Bezahlautomat ist defekt und auf die Hilfetaste reagiert keiner. So schalte ich die Wachgesellschaft ein, die einen Kontakt zum Parkhausbetreiber herstellt. Als ich drohe, dass ich die Polizei rufe, um mich befreien zu lassen geht alles sehr schnell. Man weist uns den Weg zu einem weiteren Automaten der dann auch funktioniert und dort können wir zahlen. Ein anderer niederländischer Kreuzfahrer konnte auch keinen Hinweis auf den weiteren Automaten finden.

112,00 EUR für 7 Nächte. Im Parkhaus neben dem Cruise Terminal hätten wir 175,00 EUR zahlen müssen.
