ZAANDAM: Japan

Das Erdbeben in Japan und die Folgen: Obwohl erst 2012 hat Holland America entschieden, dass sie die japanischen Häfen nicht anlaufen werden.

Uns hat man einfach umgebucht: Singapur nach Hongkong statt Hongkong nach Kobe. Über die Änderungen haben wir leider im Internet erfahren, bevor unser Reisebüro von Holland America informiert wurde.

Alternative: eine langweilige Route am 19.02. oder 01.04.2012 nach China und Korea.

Freunde, die wir auf der NORWEGIAN JADE kennengelernt haben, hatten zwischenzeitlich auch die ursprüngliche Route gebucht und sich mit der neuen Route angefreundet. Wir bleiben auch, nach dem wir anfangs nicht so wollten. Es gibt 100,00 USD Bordguthaben für das Verbleiben auf der ZAANDAM.

Für uns bedeutet das Mehrkosten, weil wir Visa für Vietnam und Kambodscha beschaffen müssen.

Besonders ärgerlich:

1. Holland America will die Mehrkosten nicht tragen
2. Holland America gibt keine Auskünfte darüber, ob sie nun wie Princess die Visa an Bord beschaffen oder nicht.

Die neue Route:

Singapur (ganz blöd... wir sind das 3. Schiff, das nicht mehr ins Cruise Center passt und werden im Containerhafen abgefertigt) - Nantoh auf Ko Samui - Laem Chabang für Bangkok (rund 2 Stunden entfernt, aber mit Übernachtung) - Sihanoukville in Kambodscha (mal gucken, ob und wie wir Angkor Wat einbauen) - Phu My für Ho-Chi-Minh-Stadt, Vietnam (oder besser noch bekannt als Saigon) - Nha Trang - Sanya auf Hainan, China (soll so sein, wie Hawai'i) - Halong-Bucht zurück in Vietnam (worauf ich mich sehr freue) und am Schluss eine Übernachtung in Hongkong (am Ocean Terminal direkt neben dem Star Ferry Terminal auf Kowloon).

They just rebooked us: Singapore to Hong Kong instead of Hong Kong to Kobe. We learned of the changes from internet. Our travel agent received notification from Holland America much more later.

Alternative: a boring itinerary on February 19 or April 1, 2012 to China and Korea.

Friends whom we met on NORWEGIAN JADE booked meanwhile the original itinerary and become comfortable with the new itinerary. We stayed too as we did not want from the beginning. We get 100.00 USD OBC for staying on ZAANDAM.

For us it means to have extra costs because we need visa for Vietnam and Cambodia.

Very angry:

1. Holland America is not willing to cover the extra costs.
2. Holland America does not give any information if they help you to get the visa on board like Princess.

The new itinerary:

Singapore (very stupid... we are the third ship which cannot berth at the Cruise Center and need to be handled in the container port) - Nantoh on Ko Somui, Thailand - Laem Chabang for Bangkok (about 2 hours away but with overnight) - Sihanoukville in Cambodia (let us see if and how we can include Angkor Wat) - Phu My for Ho-Chi-Minh-City, Vietnam (or better known as Saigon) - Nah Trang - Sanya on Hainan, China (should be as nice as Hawai'i) and finally an overnight in Hong Kong (at the Ocean Terminal just next to the Star Ferry Terminal on Kowloon).
