Seetag/Day at Sea 2.1 auf der/on ZAANDAM

Irgendwie war es komisch: auf dem Bett sitze ich so hoch, dass meine Füße nicht bis zum Boden reichen.



Somehow it was strange: I was sitting so high on the bed that my feet did not reach the carpet.

I was thirsty to something cold but as there was no fridge there was nothing.



Irgendwie habe ich Durst nach etwas Kaltem, aber mangels Kühlschrank gibt es nichts.

Draußen ist es sehr hell, da die Promenade die ganze Nacht angeleuchtet wird.



Outside it was really bright as the promenade was illuminated all night long.

The magnets did a great job. Since then the desk was only stapled half of the original height. So we were still learning new things on cruises that the walls are metallic.



Die Magnete tun ihren Dienst. Seitdem ist der Schreibtisch nur noch halb so hoch gestapelt. So lernen wir dazu, dass die Wände metallisch sind.

Das war eine der wenigen Sachen, die sie während der Fahrt nicht in Ordnung bringen konnten. Anhand der Anzahl der Löcher, sehen wir, dass sie bereits aufgegeben haben... Aber es hat unsere Erholung nicht beeinträchtigt.



This was really one of the few little things they could not fix during the voyage. Due to the number of holes we could see that they tried it many many times and gave up... But this did not affect our recreation.

You had few irritations in the elevator because UP does not stand for up (and downs)...



Es gibt einige Irritation im Fahrstuhl UP steht nicht unbedingt für aufwärts...

Das merkt man spätestens dann, wenn man LP für Lower Promenade sieht.



And you learn this latest when you see LP for Lower Promenade.

Two more reasons to be "upset": the cover of the lamp was missing...



Noch zwei Gründe sich "aufzuregen": die Abdeckung für das Lämpchen fehlt...

Und dieser Riß in der Fahrstuhltüre innen "beleidigt" mein Auge: Wieviel gibt es dafür lt. Frankfurter Tabelle oder reicht es für eine Sammelklage mit einem Harvard-Anwalt in den USA? Wer sich darüber aufregt ist selbst Schuld und sollte zu Hause bleiben... Der Rest des Schiffes ist so wunderschön...



And this scratch in the door of an elevator "offended" my eyes: How much do it get for it according to the so-called Frankfurt list (In Germany a major court released a list how much compansation any kind of lacks during the vacation is worth) or did this would be enough to organise a Harvard lawer to arrange a class-action lawsuit in the US? Who became upset because of such little cosmetics and ruined his vacation should blame himself and stay home... The rest of the ship is so beautiful...

What was really angry: you did not get everywhere WiFi - either in many public areas. For me who purchased 1,000 minutes and cannot use them in my own cabin.



Was wirklich ärgerlich ist: es gibt nicht überall WLAN - auch nicht in vielen öffentlichen Räumen. Für mich, weil ich 1.000 Minuten gebucht habe und sie nicht in meiner eigenen Kabine nutzen konnte.

Dafür gibt es Stoffhandtücher im öffentlichen WC (gab es ja nicht mal im Raffles...)



You even haven textile towels in the public toilets (you did not have it at Raffles either...)

And space enough to stand comfortable.



Und Platz genug, um sich bequem hinstellen zu können.

Schön war die Vinothek, auch wenn ich selbst nicht nutze.



Nice was the Vinoteca even I did not used by myself.

Eating and Drinking are major part of the daily programme.



Essen und Trinken waren ja auch wichtiger Bestandteil des Tagesprogrammes.

Im Cullinary Art Center, Kino und was auch immer.

Auf welchen Schiffen wird schon ein ökumenischer Gottesdienst angeboten?



On which ship are they offering an oecumenic service?















Nun wenn man 50 EUR/Nacht im Winter auf dem Mittelmeer bei bestimmten Gesellschaften zahlt, dann sollte man nicht unbedingt solche komfortable Liegen erwarten, sondern eben die dünnen Plastikteile.



If you are paying 70 USD/Night in the winter in the Med Sea with selected cruise lines than you should expect such comfortable sunbeds but the thin plastic parts.

Many guys think that the product ship is ship. But you feel with the little extras the many little differences which makes your life on board more comfortable.



Viele Leute denken, dass das Produkt Schiff gleich Schiff ist. Aber an diesen kleinen Extras merkt man die vielen kleinen Unterschiede, die das Leben an Bord besonders angenehm machen.



Here you get a fresh towel at any time. And not only in exchange like with other companies.



Man bekommt immer ein frisches Handtuch zu jeder Zeit. Und nicht nur zum Tausch, wie bei anderen Gesellschaften.

Hinten am Heck gibt es mehrere Sonnenliegen.

So sollten wir vielleicht mal einen hier runterschleppen und bei uns auf Deck 2 aufstellen.

Eine Frage für den letzten Abend...



One question for the last night:

Does this ship has a nursery onboard? Seeing every day the flower arrangements was wonderful.



Hat das Schiff eine eigene Gärtnerei an Bord? Jeden Tag die Blumenarrangements zu sehen, war einfach schön.





Es gab so viele schöne Plätze an Bord, an denen man sich erfreuen konnte. Deswegen verstehe ich manche Bewertungen nicht.



There were so many nice places on board you can have pleasure on. So I do not understand some reviews.
