Tag/Day 4.4 auf der/on ZAANDAM in Laem Chabang (Bangkok), Thailand

Unser erstes Ziel nach ca. zwei Stunden Transfer ist Wat Trimit - der Tempel des Goldenen Buddhas. Vor dem Tempel eine gute Infrastruktur inkl. Geldautomaten.



Our first target after about two hours was Wat Trimit - the Temple of the Golden Buddha. In front of the temple a great infrastructure incl. ATMs.

We were checking for the toilets. Here you need to take off your shoes and to use the slippers they kept ready for you. Maybe you should have your slippers from your ship with you if you do not like it so collective.



Wir suchen erst mal die Toiletten auf. Hier ist aber notwendig sich die Schuhe auszuziehen und in bereitgestellte Latschen zu schlüpfen. Ggfls. sollte man vom Schiff seine eigenen mitbringen, wenn man es nicht so kollektiv mag.

Und schon mal zu Hause üben, aber inkl. Bidet-Wasseranschluss.



And do your exercise at home but incl. bidet-waterpipe.

It was easy to identify Sasa: her red umbrella.



Am roten Schirm konnten wir Sasa immer gut erkennen.

Denn heute am Tag des Königs war alles in gelb. Und wir dachten schon, dass wir in einen Protest wieder hineingeraten sind.



Today at the Day of the King everything was in yellow. And we thought that we got into the demonstration again.

But there were only the secret access to the elevator which Sasa knew and she took us to. Bruno and I were not allowed to use them as they were restricted to persons with limited mobility but Sasa just explained that we will use the stairway next to the elevator as we accompany our parents.



Dabei waren es die geheimen Zugänge zum Fahrstuhl, die Sasa kennt und zu der sie uns führt. Bruno und ich dürfen nicht mit, weil es wirklich nur den Behinderten vorbehalten ist, aber Sasa erklärt, dass wir die Treppe neben dem Fahrstuhl benutzen würden und es dass es sich um meine Eltern handelt, die sie begleitet.

Innen waren wir erstaunt: Öffentliche Laibung? Als wir erklären, dass wir nur den Fahrstuhl benutzen wollen, werden wir allerdings weitergeleitet und dürfen nicht mitessen...



Inside we were surpised: Public feeding? When we explained that we only need to use the elevator we were guided through and were not allowed to eat with them.

Here again: shoes off.



Aber auch hier gilt Schuhe aus.

Wir waren auf die Situation bestens vorbereitet, weil uns Best and Family Tours bereits vorab schrieb, dass wir uns auf jeden Fall lang anziehen sollten, Schuhe tragen sollten, aus denen wir einfach rein und raus kommen, und Socken tragen sollten, die nicht durchlöchert sind...



We were well prepared to the situation by Best and Family Tours as they told us before that we should were long pants, should wear shoes which you can easily take off and get in and have socks without holes...

The situation in the room was crazy: everythose whose who set up for the event and we were walking through.



Die Situation im Raum war irre: überall die jenigen, die sich für eine Veranstaltung aufstellten und wir mittendurch.

Und den roten Teppich durfte niemand betreten.



And you were not allowed to touch the red carpet.

Left next to the carpet there was the elevator.



Links neben dem roten Teppich war der Fahrstuhl.

Und schon ging es nach oben auf das Dach.



And then we were up on the roof.

As my parents knew Bangkok from many visits before they did not want to walk more upwards.



Da meine Eltern Bangkok schon von vielen Besuchen schon her kannten, wollten meine Eltern sich es ersparen, noch weiter hoch zu laufen.

Hier lernen wir, dass man auch den Türrahmen nicht betreten darf. Ich meine sogar, dass das bei unserer thailändischen Fabrik unerwünscht ist und ich dort auch schon mal so ein Schild gesehen habe.



Here we learned that you also must not touch the door frame. I think that I saw it in our Thai plant too and there was also such a sign.

Inside there was a 700-year-old Golden Buddha made of 5.5 mt pure gold.



Innen sitzt der 700 Jahre goldene Buddha aus 5,5 t purem Gold.

Über diese Blumengeschenke, wird quasi gespendet.

Sasa gehört zu den Fremdenführern, die der Meinung sind, dass man auch Erinnerungen an sich selbst braucht und nimmt uns auch mal von Zeit zu Zeit die Kamera ab, damit wir auch Bilder von uns haben. Daran merkt man: sie ist ein Vollprofi und weiss, was ihre Kunden wünschen. Herum laufen die Gäste von der QUEEN ELIZABETH: Die hatten z. T. ein komisches Benehmen: mit dem Schuhe ausziehen, Mützen absetzen gilt nicht, wenn man mit Cunard fährt. Die liefen teilweise herum, als dürften die alles...



Sasa was member of the those tour guides who thought that you also need memories of yourself and so from time to time she took our camera to take pictures of us. You could feel that she was a true professional and knew what their customer liked. Around us were the guests of QUEEN ELIZABETH. Some of them had a strange habit like not taking off their shoes or hats. Maybe not need if you go on Cunard. Some of them behaved as they were allowed to do everything they wanted.





It was really a pleasure to see all the flower decoration.



Was wirklich Spaß gemacht hat, waren überall die Blumendekorationen.

Gesegnetes Wasser, aber eben nur gegen Spende.

Ich leiste eine Spende.

Aber ich kann jetzt nichts besonderes feststellen, weil mein Thailändisch nicht besonders gut ist...



But I could not find out something special because my Thai language skill was not very good...





Everywhere signs that you were not allowed to walk with shoes into the places.



Überall Schilder, dass man nicht mit Schuhen die Stätten betreten darf.

Aber einige von Cunard haben diese gerne übersehen. Die von der QUEEN ELIZABETH konnte man immer gut an den roten Aufklebern erkennen.



But some from Cunard loved to disregard them. It was easy to identify them as they had red stickers on.

Sasa was by the way a very helpful person. So she always gave shadow to my parents with her umbrella and walked next to them to make the way for my parents safer.



Sasa war übrigens ein ausgesprochener hilfsbereiter Mensch. So hat sie immer meinen Eltern mit ihrem Schirm Schatten gespendet und ist immer neben ihnen gegangen, damit er sicherer gehen konnte.

Denn runter ging es zu Fuß.



We had to walk all way down.

The first impression of Bangkok were quite nice.



Der erste Eindruck von Bangkok war schon mal sehr positiv.

Und nur die Kleinbusse von den Privaten Touren durften direkt hiervor parken und warten.



And only the minibuses of the private tour providers were allowed to park here and to wait.

Everywhere flowers.



Überall Blumen.

Und unten ein Tuk-Tuk, das auf uns wartet? Guenther und BJ haben uns erzählt, dass eine Tuk-Tuk-Fahrt Bestandteil ihrer Schiffstour war. Nur wurde die Fahrt von der Polizei eskortiert und die Querstraßen für den Konvoi gesperrt. Nichts durch die wilden Straßen Bangkoks.



And downstairs a tuk-tuk, which was waiting for us? Guenther and BJ told us that a tuk-tuk ride was part of their ship's tour. But the ride was escorted by the police and all crossings were closed for the convoy. No ride through the wild traffic of Bangkok.

And Sasa took time again to take pictures of us.



Und Sasa nahm sich die Zeit Bilder von uns zu machen.

So konnte ich dann etwas Werbung für das gesegnete Wasser machen.



So I could take the time to do a little advertising for the blessed water.
