Die Abendsonne war so schön, dass ich noch etwas länger bereits in formeller Erscheinung auf dem Balkon verweilte.



The evening sun was so beautiful that I stayed a little longer in formal appearance on our balcony.



Das Programm für den kommenden Tag und eine deutsche "Tageszeitung" sind gekommen.

Our good (male) cabin fairies Putu and Ari - I really want to know how we get them from the ship in our bags? Could you tell them the night before that they should move in our bags???



Unsere zwei guten Kabinengeister Putu und Ari - wie bekommt man sie eigentlich im Gepäck von Bord? Kann man denen schon am Vorabend sagen, dass sie in die Koffer sollen???

Wie - unsere Wäsche ist schon zurück? Das ist ja Premium-Service. Dann habe ich ja falsch kalkuliert! So hätten wir einen großen Koffer zu Hause lassen können und noch einen Kabinentrolley mitnehmen sollen.



So what - our laundry was already back? That was Premium-Service. Then I calculated wrong! So we could have leave one big bag at home and could take instead a cabin trolley with us.

Nur diese Sitze waren etwas komisch, weil man so nach vorne und unten rutschte.



Somehow the seats were a little strange as you slided down and forward.

Cruise Director Michael opened the event.

Und übergibt an Kapitän Werner Timmers.



And handed over to Captain Werner Timmers.





Then the Senior Officers were requested to show up on the stage. Ruben appeared there a little lost because the Captain expected him left behind him (like all others) when he introduced him. Somehow I had the impression that he had a little stage fright. Was he maybe the first time in the function of the Hotel Director on the stage and that was the reason why he appeared so nervous.



Dann werden die leitende Offiziere auf die Bühne gebeten. Ruben wirkte dort etwas verloren, weil der Kapitän ihn eigentlich (wie alle anderen auch) hinter sich links vermutete, als er ihn vorstellt. Irgendwie wirkte er so, als ob er Lampenfieber hätte. Ist er vielleicht zum ersten Mal als Hoteldirektor auf der Bühne und daher ein wenig nervös.



Instead of the Executive Chef the Employee of the Month was invited to show up on the stage. I really would like him to cook for me as he was the Crew Chef. I am sure that they would have great food which was seasoned the way the crew liked it and it must be very yummy.



Statt des Chefkochs darf der Mitarbeiter des Monats auf die Bühne. Von ihm würde ich mich gerne mal bekochen lassen, da er der Crew Koch ist. Da gibt es bestimmt ganz tolles Essen, das bestimmt für die Crew gewürzt ist und richtig lecker ist...



Everyone obviously had a lot of fun when the waiters in their tails marched in. By the way tails... showing up in tuxedos made us very overdressed. Obviously they forgot to tell the 299.00 USD-guests that Holland America is a class for itself and has nothing to do with a pricy All-Inclusive-Resort in Turkey. So sad for guests who love and appreciate Holland America because it is a little more traditional than other cruise lines. I have nothing against 299.00 USD-guests as long as they had their suits with them and know how to behave on Holland America.



Alle hatten sichtlich Spaß als die Kellner im Frack einmarschierten. Apropos Frack... wir waren im Smoking reichlich overdressed. Man hatte nämlich den 249,00 EUR-Gästen vergessen zu sagen, dass Holland America eigentlich eine Klasse für sich ist und nichts mit einem Billig-All-Inclusive-Resort in der Türkei zu tun hat. Schade für die Gäste, die eigentlich nicht auf eine türkische Billig-All-Inclusive-Ferienanlage wollten und Holland America lieben und Wert schätzen, weil es eben ein wenig traditioneller ist als bei anderen Kreuzfahrtgesellschaften. Ich habe nichts gegen 249,00 EUR-Gäste, wenn sie bitte freundlicherweise ihren Anzug mitbringen und sich entsprechend bei Holland America benehmen können.

Am Schluss kam der Chef Sommelier mit der Riesenflasche.
