Darf ich vorstellen: Annemarie, Deutsch-Niederländerin. In einem Forum hatte ich schon gelesen, dass sie der hilfreiche Geist der Fahrt von Kapstadt nach Rotterdam war, und allen geholfen hat, die kein Englisch konnten. Auch uns hilft sie bei der Übersetzung. Ich hatte 14 Tage vor der Fahrt eine Mail an die Schiffsleitung geschickt, mit der Bitte mir per pdf einen Satz Speisekarten zu schicken, die ich hätte in Ruhe übersetzen können. Leider gab es keine Antwort. Ich bin ja nur Gast, mit mir braucht man ja nicht zu sprechen... Wahrscheinlich hätte es nichts genützt, weil mit einsetzender Fahrt am 26.07.2010 eine neue Speisekarte kommt. Die Mittagskarte wurde nicht übersetzt. Wenn Annemarie nicht da ist, muss ich dann immer in zwei Sprachen übersetzen und das wollte ich mir ersparen, damit es auch für mich die Kreuzfahrt eine Erholung wird. Schade, dass mich HAL hier nicht unterstützt hat.



May I introduce: Annemarie, Dutch-German. I one forum I read already how helpful she was on the way from Cape Town to Rotterdam und helped everyone of the German who did not speak any English. She helped us as well with the translation. I asked a fortnight before sailing by mail to the Senior Management and requested by pdf one set of menu cards so I could not have them translated before. But there was no answer. I am only guest and therefore you do not need to talk to... But anyhow it would not helped because with beginning of July 26, 2010 they got new menus. The lunch menus were not translated. If Annemarie is not available I need to translate into two languages and that was what I liked to avoid so that I can also enjoy and relax on my cruise. I feel very sorry that I did not get any support from HAL's side.

You should try the chilled soup if you are going on HAL.

We sat here left from the entrance. Here you should have jacket, hat and scarf with you if you get an allocation for this corner. It was extremely breezy and cold.



Wir saßen direkt links am Eingangsbereich. Hier solltet ihr unbedingt eine Jacke, Mütze und Schal mitnehmen, wenn ihr hier platziert werdet. Extrem zugig und kalt.

Eigentlich wollten wir zur Präsentation der Kreuzfahrten 2011/2012. Aber leider steht es falsch im deutschen Tagesprogramm abgedruckt, dass es im Hudson Room stattfindet. Ich wusste gar nicht, dass so wenig Interesse besteht. Aber zum Glück hatte meine Mutter gesehen, dass diese Veranstaltung möglicherweise in der Queen's Lounge stattfindet. Und in der Tat fand sie dort statt.



We planned to attend the presentation of the cruise programme 2011/2012. But unfortunately they announced the wrong venue Hudson Room in the German version of the daily programme. I did not expected that there so less interest. But our luck was that my mother saw an event in the Queen's Lounge which might the one we were looking for.

That was the way to the Royal Dutch High Tea.

The queue moved very slow.

It was because of the plate release in front of the buffet area. So you had a congestion.



Das lag aber an der Tellerausgabe direkt vor dem Büffet. Daher der Stau.







Man muss nichts süßes mögen, um trotzdem Freude an der Teatime zu haben.



No need to love sweet treats to have pleasure with the tea-time.





Allerdings handelt es sich um Teatime, was bedeutet, dass es keinen Kaffee gibt.



But it was tea-time which meaned that there was no coffee available.

I was unable to have any further bite. So that was not my plate.



Bei mir ging beim besten nichts mehr rein. Das ist daher nicht mein Teller.

Und da wir auf Deck 3 saßen, sahen wir auch zum ersten Mal die schönen Blumenornamente.
