Vieles kann man zu Fuß machen, weil wir direkt vor der Stadt anlegen.



You can do a lot by walking as you berth directly in front of the city.

Something hidden: the information kiosk which was behind the exit at the pier, i. e. most went left to the city before they reached the kiosk.



Etwas versteckt: der Info-Kiosk, der hinter dem Ausgang auf dem Pier liegt, d. h. die meisten sind davor schon links in die Stadt abgebogen, bevor man den Kiosk erreicht.

Aber man sieht hier an der Wand: Das Jugendstilzentrum ist nur 150 m entfernt. Das Aquarium im Atlantikpark liegt allerdings ca. 3,5 km von der Stadt weg.



But you see here on the wall: The Art Deco Center is just 150 yards away. The Aquarium in the Atlantic Park about 2 miles from the city.

Es gibt auch eine Bimmelbahn.



There is also a little train.

When I requested I was told that they do not stop in front of the Cruise Terminal but I saw also that the little train was getting here around.



Als ich angefragt hatte, hieß es, dass man nicht vor dem Cruise Terminal hält, aber dort habe ich auch Bähnchen herumfahren sehen.

Sie hielt auch am oben am Fjellstua, für diejenigen, die nicht laufen mögen.



It also stopped on top of the Fjellstua for whose who does not like to walk.

Oder man bucht eine Taxitour über Ålesund-Taxi, so wie wir.

Oder noch besser: man hat eine Balkonkabine und braucht schon das Schiff gar nicht zu verlassen...

Trond told us during the tour that our German Emperor William is very popular in Ålesund because he sent some ship loads of support equipement after the big fire. He liked Ålesund and made sure that a new rebuild was possible. The street just in front of the cruise terminal is named after him.



Trond hatte uns während des Ausfluges erzählt, dass unser Kaiser Wilhelm in Ålesund sehr beliebt ist, weil er mehrer Schiffsladungen mit Hilfsgütern nach dem großen Feuer geschickt hat. Er mochte Ålesund und sorgte somit für einen schnellen Wiederaufbau. Die Straße am Cruise Terminal ist nach ihm benannt.

Ich gehe doch mal die 150 m bis vor das Jugendstilcenter, um hier noch paar Bilder aufzunehmen. Trond meinte, dass sich ein Besuch lohnt, aber ich wollte bloß schnell auf das Schiff zurück.



I went the 150 yards to the Art Deco Center and took some pictures there around. Trond said that it is worth to visit but I want get quickly back to the ship.









The blue sky was a bluff.



Der blaue Himmel täuscht.

Man achte auf die Wollmütze des Stewards: es bließ ein kalter Wind. Aber nach 38° die Wochen zuvor in Deutschland war es einfach herrlich, mal wieder diese Temperaturen zu genießen. Aber ich hatte keine Jacke mit, deswegen wollte ich auch schnell zurück an Bord.



Look on the steward's head: his wool head. There was a very cold wind. But after few weeks of 90F in German it was so great to enjoy the temperatures. But I had no jacket with me and that was the reason why I wanted to be back on the ship as soon as possible.
