Tag/Day 4.14 auf der/on ZAANDAM in Laem Chabang (Bangkok), Thailand

Der Flughafen Suvarnabhumi liegt genau in der Mitte zwischen Bangkok und Laem Chabang. Wir hatten vorgeschlagen, dass wir auch den Express-Zug nehmen könnten, weil wir im Bahnhof direkt das Gepäck aufgeben könnten, aber davon wollten Sasa und Pom nichts wissen. Zur thailändischen Gastfreundschaft gehört es nicht, dass man es dem Fremdenführer und Fahrer es möglich einfach macht, sondern dem Gast. Unser Weg führt uns durch eine Straße, die bekannt für die getrockneten Mangos sind und die hier im Straßenverkauf an den Ampeln angeboten werden.



The airport of Suvarnabhumi was located in the center between Bangkok and Laem Chabang. We made the suggestion to use the express-train as we could use the check-in in the train station but Sasa and Pom did not want to know anything of this. It is part of the Thai hospitality not to please the driver or tour guide but the guest. Our way took us through a street which was famous for dried mango fruites and which were sold at the red traffic signal at the street.

So we caught few more impressions from Bangkok on the way to the airport.



So nehmen wir noch unterwegs einige Eindrücke von Bangkok mit.

Gegen 17.00 Uhr sind wir dann am Flughafen.



Around 17.00 hrs we were just arrived at the airport.

Great performance: Sasa, Pom and Private and Family Tours. That was a true job done by professionals for which we liked to spend the money.



Spitzenleistung: Sasa, Pom und Private and Family Tours. Das war wirklich eine professionelle Arbeit, für die wir gerne das Geld ausgeben haben.

Innen geht es zum Check-in von Bangkok Airways. Dort geht es aber sehr schnell. Internet-Check-in ist für internationale Passagiere nicht zugelassen.



We went to the check-in of Bangkok Airways. But it took only seconds. Internet-Check-in was not allowed for international passengers.

Looked more like a shopping mall with few airbridges attached.



Das ganze ist eher eine Shopping Mall mit ein paar Flugzeugausgängen hinten dran.

Wir haben aber noch Zeit für die Lounge. Bangkok Airways hält für seine internationalen Fluggäste eine Lounge bereit.



Plenty of time to see the lounge. Bangkok Airways kept for its international guests a lounge available.

















But at a certain time we need to see the departure gate.



Und irgendwann mussten wir doch noch zum Abflugsgate.

Dort waren wir allerdings verwundert, wie leer es war.



We were quite surprised that none were around us.





23 guests on an Airbus 319 which means you have a lot of space to spread out.



23 Gäste in einem Airbus 319 bedeutet doch sehr viel Platz für alle.

Und ich hatte sogar den Eindruck, dass ich in der Economy Class mehr Beinfreiheit habe, als bei Lufthansa.



And I had the impression that I had more legroom than with Lufthansa.

For such a short flight I might expected a refreshing towel only.



Für den kurzen Flug hätte ich bloß ein Erfrischungstuch erwartet...

Stattdessen gab es eine Box.



But we got more: a box.

Nothing compared to our dinner on board but more than expected. With Lufthansa I would only get a chocolate bar...



Kein Vergleich zum Abendessen an Bord, aber mehr als gedacht. Bei Lufthansa hätte ich bloß den Schokoriegel bekommen...

Und danach noch Kaffee oder Tee... Nein - ich hatte nur Economy Class gebucht... Und das einfache Ticket kostete 6.640 THB (= 165 EUR / 2012) und konnte online bei Bangkok Airways gebucht werden.



Thereafter coffee and tea... No - I only booked Economy Class... The single fare was 6.640 THB (= 216 USD / 2012) and could be purchased online with Bangkok Airways.

We got our visa as e-Visa. It was 25 USD per person. The arrival and departure care we got from the ship so I we were well prepared accordingly.



Die Visa haben wir uns als e-Visa besorgt. Das waren 25 USD pro Person. Die Ein- und Ausreisekarte haben wir vom Schiff bekommen und entsprechend vorbereitet.

Nach etwa einer Stunden sind wir in Siem Reap angekommen. Ein kleiner Flughafen ohne Busse oder Flugsteige...



After about one hour we arrived at Siem Reap. A small airport: no buses, no air-bridges...

Very classical by stairway.



Ganz klassich mit Treppe.

Die Einreise ging ganz einfach. Die Einreisebeamten hatten sich mehr oder minder "beworben", damit man durch ihre Reihe läuft. Die Gepäckausgabe dauerte einen kleinen Moment länger, weil zuvor zwei Chartermaschinen gelandet sind und der Flughafen nur zwei Gepäckbänder hat.



Immigration went smooth. The immigration officer "applied" that you should see their counter.The baggage claim took a moment longer as two charter flights arrived and the airport has only two baggage claim belts.
