Tag/Day 11.9 auf der/on ZAANDAM in Sanya (Hainan), China

Einmal pro Kreuzfahrt gibt es im Pinnacle Grill Le Cirque. Nein - es war leider kein Zirkusevent wie auf der NORWEGIAN EPIC, sondern es ist ein Edel-Italiener aus New York. Ich kannte ihn zuvor nicht. Aber wie wir dem Plakat entnehmen konnten Sofia Loren (Dauertaufpatin bei MSC...), Bill Clinton, Henry Kissinger und meine geliebte Audrey Hepburn waren dort schon zu Gast. Die anderen auf den Bildern kannte ich alle nicht. Da ich Audrey Hepburn verehre, war es natürlich ein besonderes Erlebnis dort zu essen, wo sie auch schon gegessen hat.



Once per cruise they had Le Cirque in the Pinnacle Grill. No - it was not a circus event like you had on NORWEGIAN EPIC but a noble Italian restaurant from New York City. I did not know it before. But as we could see on the poster Sofia Loren (Subscriber of all godmother-activities on MSC...), Bill Clinton, Henry Kissinger and my beloved Audrey Hepburn were already there as guests. All other on the picture I could not identify. As I honor Audrey Hepburn very much it should be a great experience to eat there where she ate too.





To tell the end of the story before: For 39.00 USD cover charge it was a flop. When you check the menu you will see that the variation was much smaller than with the Pinnacle Grill itself. It was only a flop because you eat so well in the Pinnacle Grill for 25.00 USD that you deeply regret not having one more dinner and one more lunch in the Pinnacle Grill for the same amount.



Um es vorweg zu nehmen: Für 39,00 USD Zuzahlung war es leider ein Reinfall. Bei der Speisekarte fiel schon auf, dass die Auswahl kleiner war, als beim Pinnacle Grill selbst. Es war aber bloß ein Reinfall, weil man für 25,00 USD Zuzahlung im Pinnacle Grill so gut isst, dass man es eigentlich schon bedauert, nicht lieber ein Abendessen und ein Mittagessen mehr im Pinnacle Grill für den gleichen Betrag gegessen zu haben.

Die Teller waren ja ganz schön.

Mein Vater ist im Jahr des Affen geboren, und dachte natürlich, dass sie nur seinetwegen so dekoriert hätten.







The rolls were very soft and nice.



Die Brötchen waren schön weich.

The lobster salad.



Der Hummersalat.

Kaviar und Blinis. Vielleicht doch ein guter Grund, die die 39,00 USD Zuzahlung rechtfertigen?

Die Frage würde ich mit ja beantworten... ich hatte mir sogar noch überlegt, ob ich nicht mit Brot den Teller ganz "putze".



I would answer the question with yes... I thought to "clean" the bread with a piece of bread.

Due to missing options we had all the butter squash soup.



Mangels großer Auswahl hatten wir alle die Butter Squash (Kürbisart)-Suppe.

Ich fand sie jetzt nicht so aufregend, wenn man sonst die Hummercremesuppe im Pinnacle Grill kennt.



It was not so exiting if you know already the Lobster Bisque from the Pinnacle Grill.









Bruno had the chicken. He said that the chicken in the noodle soup place in Singapore was better.



Bruno hatte das Hühnchen. Er meinte aber, das das Hühnchen in dem Nudelsuppengeschäft in Singapur leckerer war.







Comment from a Germany's no. 1 comedian in his movie: It looks very clear. And neither the flavour nor the quantity could beat the rib-eye-steak on bone from Pinnacle Grill. Very sorry!



Und wie meinte Loriot in "Pappa ante portas": Das sieht sehr übersichtlich aus. Und weder geschmacklich noch von der Menge her, konnte es mit meinem Rib-Eye-Steak mit Knochen aus dem Pinnacle Grill selbst mithalten. Schade!



Everyone of us was a little disappointed.



Alle waren ein bisschen enttäuscht.

Aber wir lassen uns die Freude an dem Abend nicht nehmen.



But we did not accept not to have pleasure with the night.

BJ came by.



BJ kommt vorbei.

Und nun wissen wir auch, wozu er so viele Magnete braucht: um die Blumen anbringen zu können.

Meine Mutter freut sich darüber.

Ich mag das ja nicht so, wenn nicht mehr als eines von jedem auf einem Teller liegt.

Meine Eltern freuen sich sehr über die Bilder, die ich heute in Sanya für ihren bevorstehenden 47. Hochzeitstag gemacht habe.



My parents were lucky on the pictures I took earlier this day in Sanya due to their 47th anniversary day.

The desserts were all very lovely.



Die Desserts wiederum waren sehr gut.





Sogar der Zucker stammt von Le Cirque.

My father was happy on his warm chocolate soufflé with the ice cream.



Mein Vater freut sich über das warme Schokoladensoufflé mit dem Eis.

Meine Mutter freut sich über BJ's Blumen.



My mother was Happy with BJ's flowers.

And BJ and Guenther enjoyed their food.



Und BJ und Guenther genießen das Essen.
