Tag/Day 0B auf dem Weg zur/on the way to VEENDAM in Lissabon/Lisbon, Portgual

Bom Dia Lisboa! Während Sigi in unserem Bad duscht, genießen wir die Aussicht aus dem Wohnzimmerteil der Suite: Man blickt von hier auf den Parque Eduardo VII de Inglaterra, den Praça Marquês de Pombal, auf das Ritz Four Seasons, die Christusstatue Cristo Rei und den Sonnenaufgang über Lissabon.



Bom Dia Lisboa! While Sigi took a shower in our bathroom, we enjoyed the view from the living room section of the suite. From here, you could see the Parque Eduardo VII de Inglaterra, the Marquês de Pombal Square, the Ritz Four Seasons, the Christ the Redeemer Cristo Rei, and the sunrise over Lisbon.

The flower decoration in the lobby was adorable. Unfortunately, we could not try the pastry store here.



Die Blumendekoration in der Lobby ist einfach schön. Leider schaffen wir es nicht, hier die Patisserie auszuprobieren.

Es geht zum Frühstück in den Club InterContinental.



We headed to Club InterContinental for breakfast.

Luis picked us up. He was our guide during our cruise ship call in Lisbon on KONINGSDAM 2016. With him, we had an old town walking tour, by tram, by funicular and Belém by tuk-tuk. We booked him again at WithLocals.



Uns holt Luis ab. Er war unser Führer während unseres Halts in Lissabon mit der KONINGSDAM 2016. Mit ihm hatten wir damals eine Altstadt-Tour zu Fuß, mit der Straßenbahn, mit der Standseilbahn und Belém mit dem Tuk-Tuk gemacht. Wir haben ihn wieder über WithLocals gebucht.

Das Gebäude erinnert irgendwie an die Sphinx- (AIDAdiva, AIDAbella, AIDAluna) bzw. Ikarus-Klasse (AIDAblu, AIDAsol, AIDAmar, AIDAstella) der AIDA-Schiffe. Sieht doch wieder aus wie der Melitta-Filter: Es ist Teil des Amoreiras Shopping Center.



The building was somehow reminiscent of the Sphinx (AIDAdiva, AIDAbella, AIDAluna) or Ikarus-class (AIDAblu, AIDAsol, AIDAmar, AIDAstella) of AIDA cruise ships. Looked like the Melitta coffee filter again: It was part of the Amoreiras Shopping Center.

We went to Sintra, Portugal: UNESCO World Heritage Parque e Palácio Nacional da Pena within the Parque de Sintra Monte da Lua. Online tickets were cheaper, but we decided spontaneously, which of the palaces we looked at. The queue here was limited. We did it without the shuttle bus (3.00 EUR - 2019) within the park. So we skipped one line and walked up to the palace. And they would not drive you directly in front of the entrance anyway.



Wir fahren nach Sintra: UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe Parque e Palácio Nacional da Pena innerhalb der Parques de Sintra Monte da Lua. Online Karten gibt es günstiger, aber wir entscheiden spontan, welche der Paläste wir uns ansehen. Die Schlangen hier halten sich in Grenzen. Auf den Busshuttle (3,00 EUR - 2019) innerhalb des Parks verzichten wir. So ersparen wir uns eine Schlange und laufen hoch zum Palast. Und man wird eh nicht direkt vor den Eingang gefahren.

Luis stellt sich für uns in die Schlange vor dem Haupteingang zum Palast an, während wir draußen uns umsehen.

It was too sweet for me. We offered it to the kids at the next table. But they did not like it either.



Mir sind sie zu süß. Wir bieten sie den Kindern am Nachbartisch an. Aber auch sie mögen sie nicht.

Wir gehen noch kurz in die Kapelle.



We went quickly to the chapel.

Afterward, we walked through Sintra. We passed many artists and artisans presenting their works along the road. We walked skipped the Palácio Nacional de Sintra with the distinctive "sugarloaf", as we had no time to visit everything. Everywhere delicious items were offered for eating and drinking. A Tesla with a chauffeur in a suit. I looked like Jason Statham as Frank Martin in the movie "The Transporter".



Im Anschluss laufen wir noch durch Sintra. Vorbei an vielen Künstlern und Kunsthandwerkern, die entlang der Straße ihre Werke präsentieren. Am Palácio Nacional de Sintra mit den markanten "Zuckerhüten" laufen wir vorbei, da wir keine Zeit haben alles zu besuchen. Überall werden leckere Sachen zum Essen und Trinken angeboten. Ein Tesla mit Chauffeur im Anzug. Wie Jason Statham als Frank Martin im Film "The Transporter".

Danach geht es in das Anwesen Quinta de Regeleira - ein weiteres UNESCO Weltkutlurerbe.



Thereafter, we visited the estate fo Quinta de Regeleira - another UNESCO World Heritage.

Especially the well, the lake, the waterfall, and the stones, which led us dry through the lake, impressed.



Besonders der Brunnen, der See, der Wasserfall und die Steine, die uns trocken durch den See führen, beeindrucken.

Before we were heading for the exit, we also went through the palace.



Bevor es zum Ausgang geht, auch einmal durch den Palast.

Von hier genießen wir den Ausblick auf die Umgebung mit den anderen Palästen.



From here, we enjoyed the view to the surrounding with all the other palaces.

We need to return here again.



Hier müssen wir wohl nochmals her.

Wir laufen wieder zurück in die Ortsmitte und laufen auch an kleineren Palästen vorbei.



We walked back to the town center, and passed also some of the smaller palaces.

Since there was a one-hour time difference to Germany and we walked already a lot, we were hungry and thirsty. At Cantinho do Lord Byron, we got a plate of ham, cheese, olives, and bread, which we could share. That was exactly how we liked it.



Da eine Stunde Zeitunterschied zu Deutschland besteht und wir auch schon sehr viel gelaufen sind, haben wir Hunger und Durst. In der Cantinho do Lord Byron stellt man uns eine Platte mit Schinken, Käse, Oliven und Brot zusammen, den wir uns teilen können. Genauso mögen wir es.

Wir fahren am Bahnhof in Sintra vorbei. Hier endet die CP-Vorortbahn aus Lissabon.

If you bought the "appropriate" 24-hour ticket (subway, tram and CP commuter trains to Cascais and Sintra), you could also use the train to get here.



Falls man die "richtige" 24-Stunden-Karte (U-Bahn, Straßenbahn, CP-Vorortzüge nach Cascais und Sintra) gekauft hat, kann man auch die Bahn hierher mitnutzen.

Mit dem Scotturb-Bus 434 oder HoHo-Bus kann man sich innerhalb Sintra fortbewegen.

Through the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park along the coast, we headed towards Estoril, Portugal.



Durch den Naturpark Sintra-Cascais entlang der Küste fahren wir Richtung Estoril.

Am westlichen Ende der Welt auf Kontinental-Europa Cabo da Roca machen wir einen kurzen Halt, um ein paar Fotos zu machen.



At the western end of the world on continental Europe Cabo da Roca we made a short stop to take some pictures.

The preparation of the cappuccino looked very historically. With whipped cream, I knew only from my childhood in Germany, when nobody knew how to prepare milk foam.



Die Zubereitung des Cappuccino wirkt sehr historisch. Mit geschlagener Sahne kenne ich nur aus meiner Kindheit in Deutschland, als man noch nicht wusste, wie man Milchschaum zubereitet.

Touristisches Monopol! 3,20 EUR (2019) ist für portugiesische Verhältnisse schon teuer.

We reached Cascais or Estoril. The cities were merging. There was a festival in the town. Since all the parking spaces in the city center were occupied, we did not take a tour. By contrast, it was in Sintra "deserted". Here were the crowds on the streets. No wonder: beautiful beaches and lovely weather invited you to spend the day here.



Wir erreichen Cascais bzw. Estoril. Die Städte gehen ineinander über. Da ein Festival in der Stadt ist und alle Parkplätze in der Innenstadt besetzt sind, verzichten wir auf einen Rundgang. Dagegen war es in Sintra "menschenleer". Hier sind die Massen auf den Straßen. Kein Wunder: schöne Strände und schönes Wetter laden dazu ein, hier den Tag zu verbringen.

Weiter geht es entlang der Küste Richtung Lissabon. Luis behält Recht: mit der Bahn wäre es kaum zu schaffen gewesen und man sollte doch besser die Ziele trennen und nicht kombinieren. Aber Luis kann uns ja beim nächsten Mal dann Richtung Cascais und Estoril führen und uns dann die Schöheiten der Küste zeigen.



We continued along the coast towards Lisbon. Luis was right: with the train, it would be difficult, and you should better separate the destinations and should not combine them. But Luis could guide us next time to Cascais and Estoril and then showing us the quaintness of the coast.







Zurück im Hotel sind wir froh, dass wir sofort in den Club InterContinental können und zunächst wieder etwas essen können.



Back in the hotel, we were glad that we could see immediately in the Club InterContinental and first get something to eat.





For us to check-out quickly tomorrow, we were suggested that they could already prepare everything. For a brief moment, I rested on the chaise longue.



Damit wir morgen schnell abreisen können, wird uns vorgeschlagen, dass sie schon alles vorbereiten können. Einen kurzen Moment ruhe ich mich auf der Chaiselongue aus.

Luis hat uns noch unseren Weg zuvor erklärt, den wir jetzt gehen. Oberhalb vom Parque Eduardo VII de Inglaterra befindet sich ein Aussichtspunkt, an dem wir vorbeikommen. Ein schöner Blick über Lissabon.

Wir können schon unser Hotel rechts sehen. Sehr gut erkennt man das Ritz Four Seasons. Rechts in Stufen und in schwarz ist unser Hotel InterContinental.

We went to the department store El Corte Inglés. Here we bought a few more things. The Gourmet Experience in the 7th floor and many food outlets in the basement opened longer than the rest of the department store. We dined in Mesón de Tapas. This fitted perfectly. The sharing was annoying because there were no sharp knives. It was delicious, anyway. We got a lot for little money. A beautiful day came to an end. Thanks to Luis for the great tour to Sintra and the coastline. We were looking forward to discovering something new together on our next trip to Lisbon - sometimes.



Wir gehen ins Kaufhaus El Corte Inglés. Hier kaufen wir noch ein paar Kleinigkeiten ein. Die Gourmet Experience im 7. Stock und viele Essensstände im Kellergeschoss haben länger geöffnet, als der übrige Verkauf des Kaufhauses. Wir essen im Mesón de Tapas. Das passt perfekt. Die Teilerei nervt, weil es keine scharfen Messer gibt. Lecker ist es trotzdem. Wir bekommen sehr viel für wenig Geld. Ein schöner Tag geht zu Ende. Vielen Dank nochmals an Luis für die großartige Tour nach Sintra und der Küstenlinie. Wir freuen uns auf das nächste Mal irgendwann, um dann wieder etwas neues gemeinsam zu entdecken.
